A GREAT LIGHT
(Isaiah 9:2) The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined.
Prophet Isaiah tells us in our theme scripture that there were a people, that is a nation, who dwelled in darkness. These people lived in the shadow of death. This is a place of gloom and rancor. This is a place where the devil has total control. This nation is the nation without Christ.
Jesus is the great light and He makes those who believe in Him light as well (Matthew 5:14-16). Apostle John, by the prophetic unction on him, wrote that ‘And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.’ (John 1:5) This means it took the appearance of Jesus Christ, the great light, to dissipate the shadow of death and all forms of darkness. No wonder Apostle Paul added in Colossians 2:15 that ‘Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.’ This is proof that the great light, the Lord Jesus, defeated the devil and his cohorts. The amazing thing is He made you a great light, the day you believed in Him (1 John 4:17).
As a great light, show others the way to the true God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Charge in prayer today and prophesy on yourself that you have also become a great light hence you are liberating all nations and people around you and in this world from the influence of Satan. Halleluyah!
Confession: The Lord Jesus Christ is the great light. He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one goes to the Father except by Him. Since my faith is in Him, He has made me a great light as well. Therefore, I show others the way to the true God. I shine ever so brightly in this world of corruption and decadence by the power of the Holy Ghost. Halleluyah!
