GLORIOUS WORD DEVOTIONAL

14/05/2022

THE RIGHT SPIRIT

(Palms 51:10) Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Our theme scripture is part of a prayer of forgiveness King David prayed when He sinned. As part of the prayer, he asked God to create in him a clean heart. By this he meant God should grant him a heart with which he could have empathy for others; thus he would be able to feel the pain of others. This is the antidote to wickedness. He continued to ask God to renew a steadfast or right spirit within him. This refers to a spirit that can stand before God. In the end, God had mercy on him and forgave all his wrongs.

David was smart to pray this way because it had always been God’s plan to make us children of love so that we can feel what others feel. It had also been His desire to make our spirits stand upright before Him by granting us His righteousness. Several years later, Jesus stepped into the earth and made these possible.

Today, Jesus is your righteousness and as such you stand right or upright before God Almighty (Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 1:30). Also, the Spirit of Jesus has poured love into your heart so that you can feel what others feel (Romans 5:5). What a life! You have the right spirit now that you are in Christ. Spend time in prayer and fellowship with the Holy Ghost today. Declare that you have the right spirit. Declare that you will never be an agent of sin and wickedness. Halleluyah!

Confession: The day I believed in Jesus was the day God created in me a clean heart. I am full of love for the love of God has been poured into my spirit by the Holy Ghost. My spirit stands upright before God because Jesus Christ is my righteousness. I have empathy for others. Due to these, the grace of God in my life will always increase. My face shines like the face of Jesus for I am like Him. Halleluyah!

Say this if you have never been born again. I declare from today that Jesus Christ is my Lord and I believe that God raised Him from the dead.

Congratulations

You can begin to attract God’s goodness into your life from today.
