GLORIOUS WORD DEVOTIONAL

01/05/2022

DON’T BE A MEN PLEASER

(1 Corinthians 3:21) So don’t boast about following a particular human leader. For everything belongs to you (NLT)

In our theme scripture for today, we are admonished to stop boasting about following a particular leader, for everything belongs to us. By this, I don’t mean disrespect your leaders. No! I mean, be yourself. Live your life in Christ. This means do not be a men-pleaser but a God-pleaser. This also means your boast must be in the Lord only (1 Corinthians 1:29-31). It is better for everyone to call you a fool but wise in the sight of God.

That is what happened in the days of Noah. At that time, it had never rained on the earth, so when he told the people to repent for God was preparing to destroy the earth with rainwater, they laughed at him. He could have stopped and followed those people, but he did not. Several years later, God honored him by enlisting him in the hall of faith (Hebrews 11: 7).

Check Paul’s advise to the Church at Thessalonica. He said, ‘Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God’ (1 Thessalonica 4:1). Learn to please God always. Stay in prayer and ask the Holy Spirit to help you please Him always. Halleluyah!

Confession: I refuse to be a man-pleaser. I declare that I am a God-pleaser. I am living my life in Christ. I am enjoying my life in Jesus. It’s a life of glory. It’s a life of blessings. It’s a life of honor. Halleluyah!

Say this if you have never been born again. I declare from today that Jesus Christ is my Lord and I believe that God raised Him from the dead.

Congratulations

You can begin to attract God’s goodness into your life from today.
